Well I am back from Anime Evolution. Okay, actually I got back on Sunday, but I only really got onto a computer just now.
Anime Evolution was pretty cool actually. My friends and I all left a couple of days early. We used Thursday to scope out the UBC campus and goof off at Metrotown mall before meeting my mother in New Westminister for dinner. She threw me an early birthday party. I'd say the only real epic suckage about the convention was the severe lack of sleep. I spent the night before the convention working on the battle damage for Kurama's costume... and the last two nights re-styling the wig. Poor

too, she was up with me most of the time.
Although it was very much worth it. The costume looked really good... Okay, well as good as I was going to get it in such a short period of time. I found it really funn that quite a few people really like the costume and asked for my pictre, but had NO CLUE who I was. Ah, that's what you get for cosplaying from an anime from 1990... Even though the dubbed version was shown on the air in the States until just like a year ago or so. Although there were a few people who knew who I was... and I had a stalker on the last day XD. A girl dressed as Faust from Shaman King, it was pretty funny really.
There was one thing that made the whole thing uber awesome though, the fact that I found a Hiei! I had decided on the first day to just do some wandering around and look at other people's costumes when I was in line to get my badge and my friends were saving the spot. Well out of the corner of my eye I caught this person in black. At first I brushed it off as yet ANOTHER Sasuke from Naruto, but when I got closer, my eyes widened, and as much as I HATE to admit it I let out this fan girl squeal of "HIEI!" and raced up to her. I swear I scared her... even if she won't admit to that XD. We took a few really epic pictures together on the first day and kept running into each other. We also had an epic Karaoke session and sang "In the End" by Linkin Park, playing up a "lover's spat" between Hiei and Kurama. She wasn't Hiei on the second day sadly, so I was with out her, but we ran into each other again a whole bunch of times on the last day and had another epic photo shoot. We also met up AFTER the con at the mall again... in costume and had a DDR battle as Hiei and Kurama... Kurama just proved it's grace not speed that kicks ass XD. Hiei if you are reading, this, you know I still love you.
OH, there was also an AWESOME voice actor at the con. I willfully admit that I don't know much of his work but he was such a cool person that it didn't really matter. He would just randomly show up at pannels to see what was going on. Turns out this was his first convention ad he just wanted to see what was going on because he was a total nerd too XD. I wound up talking to him quite a bit. Lee Tockar was his name, and he mainly does "death roles" in anime and has been in like a bazillion titles. I also discovered that not only does Brad Swaile play like all of my favourite anime character's, he's also an EPIC artist. I wish I could have gotten some photographic proof of it, but I was amazed. There were also many epic panels. I wound up having more fun than I thought I would.
The friends who came with me seemed to have a good time too. Although I was informed that some things were a drag for them. I only hope I wasn't too controlling or demanding ><. I tend to stress and worry over things way too much and thus piss off my friends. To them, I do apologize if I went too overboard *hides in a corner.*
So yeah, that's how Anime Evolution went in a nut shell...
